Perfect Jacket

"I couldn’t be happier with this jacket. Perfect no matter the condition of weather. It even works for going out to dinner. Everything TRUEWERK is worth every dollar. Not 1 bad purchase. I will continue to purchase."

S3 Solution is at the Super Bowl LX

"Working as the Labor Coordinator for Super Bowl I find the S3 Solution Jacket has fit my needs perfectly. I like how the back is a bit longer for our 40 degree mornings. S3 solution has the right amount of pockets and the hood goes perfect over my hard hat. Wearing all the rest of my gear over the S3 Solution is very comfortable as well! I could recommend this jacket enough! On colder gigs I use the S4 Tower Parka and it is just as PERFECT! I have future plans to purchase the black corresponding pants to match my jackets."

Solid Jacket – Sizing Confusion Cleared Up, Great Style and Warmth

"Bought this Truewerk jacket right before Christmas and had to exchange the XL for a Large after reading reviews claiming the L ran smaller than expected. Turns out those reviews were off—the Large fits me perfectly. No tightness, great range of motion, and room for a layer underneath without feeling bulky. The style is sharp, it’s legitimately warm, and the build and durability seem excellent so far. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend."

Needs lots of refining

"Nice LOOKING jacket, but function is a different story. 1. The sleeves are way too long unless you have Marfan's Syndrome (look it up) 2. It's hard to pull a hand out of the sleeve once you've got the wrist adjustment correct--If the sleeves weren't sooooo long I wouldn't have to have the wrist strap as tight. Maybe a neoprene-like design that is sort of self adjusting like on the Eskimo brand ice fishing jacket sleeve (expedition version) 3. The zipper pulls are way too small, apparently made for someone with dainty little fingers. Compare to the zipper pull on the T1 shorts and you'll see what I mean. The ones on this coat are at most half the size. And I should expect to operate this with gloves on? 4. It's a slim fit coat. If you have any meat on you this coat will ride up in your armpits. I'm 5'9" 190, 44" chest, 32" waist, 16" unflexed upper arm, reasonably muscular build but not huge by any means and there's no way I can layer this thing. Relax the fit a little and I could layer it a bit, but how it stands right now, you have to be a twig to get layers under here. Which brings me to. . . . 5. If it's a great coat to layer, it means IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH INSULATION FOR COLD WEATHER!!! During the recent cold weather here in WI, I was freezing in this jacket when the temp went under 35 degrees. I could feel the cold seeping through every square inch of the thing--weirdest experience with a coat I've ever had! That really cool waffle pattern has by virtue of its design thick and thin areas and it seems to me that to deal with the cold, you need more thick than thin. 6. It's not even remotely wind proof. I compared this coat head to head under varying temps and wind conditions with one of your competitors and let's just say you have WERK to do. . . . . 7. The side pockets are too shallow. It's not the best idea to have the zipper open all the way to the bottom of the pocket, so when you swing the coat to put it on, you get treated to a yard sale, with all the contents going flying all over the room or ground. That pocket needs to be a little deeper than the lower limit of the zipper--this is just common sense. I "solved" the problem by keeping the zipper up a little bit but then the space for the hand to get in isn't quite right, but a person shouldn't have to do that, and I've never had to piddle around with a coat so much in my life. All that said, it has "Good Bones" and with some very minimal re-engineering, it could be fantastic. Please make it fantastic so I can buy the new one and enjoy it LOL. Anyone who loves this coat has no idea how much better it really could be. But YOU do TRUEWERK Design Team don't you??!!! Yeah you do---Now get to WERK! :)"

Not true to size

"This is the second jacket I have returned from Truewerk. In this instance, the jacket (ordered XL) was huge. . . felt more like a pool cover! It felt more like a 3XL than an XL. . . and I like my clothing on the loose side."

Thomas M. (2/5)

Awesome jacket

"Light yet warm, bottom of sleeves are a bit bulky. Material is soft, it was -17 here and I wore a long sleeve undershirt and this jacket and was very comfortable."

Fantastic Work Jacket

"Fantastic jacket for working in the field. Lightweight jacket that punches out of its weight class. Has the waffle lining and pairs great with the B2 Hoodie. Shell doesn’t let the wind through and keeps you nice and warm without constricting your movements."

JP (5/5)

S3 Solution Jacket

"Well built and light. Surprisingly warm for being so light. Great top layer for windy, sprinkling days. Fits me great as well."

Q&A

What are the differences between this jacket and the s3 solution hoodie?
Hi Will, The only difference between the two is that the Hoodie has a hood and the Jacket does not. Thank you, TRUEWERK
Is the zipper made of plastic or metal? The reason I ask is cuz I'm a natural gas journeyman and we in the gas dept where I work are forced to buy work clothes (only tops) from the same company as the linemen. Button up shirts have plastic buttons & hoodies, jackets, etc have plastic zippers...
The S3 zipper is plastic! The zipper pull itself is metal.
Is the fit of this the same as the Solutions hoodie?
Yup, same fit.
What's the back length on the large?
Back length of the large is 30 1/4 inches
I am a medium waist and hips, a large chest and extra large arm length. What do you suggest?
Go with Large. Arm length is long already, and it does have some stretch, but if you want any room at all to possibly layer, the chest is going to be the limiter. For reference, I am 210#, 6', chesty, and wear a Large.
