The S3 Solution styles are the core of our Shell Line because they are made with 3L stretch, waterproof fabric. We call it softshell, which provides stretch in all directions for ultimate freedom of movement on the job. Technically, the 3-layer fabric is waterproof, but because we laminate fleece on the inside for warmth, the seams cannot be taped. We don't claim the S3 Solution Jacket is waterproof, but you would have to be in a downpour for the seams to leak. The comfort-level in cold, wet, windy weather is high because the fabric has a channeled-hex fleece liner to trap warm air. It's windproof and almost completely waterproof, and the fleece liner eliminates the need for the weight and bulk of extra layers. That's why we call it "The Solution" for work in truly inclement weather.
